今年以来，通城街头出现了一批俗称“鬼火”的改装摩托车，该种类摩托车行驶时排气管发出刺耳的轰鸣声响吓得路人纷纷避让，不仅严重影响了附近居民的休息，且速度非常快，极易发生交通事故，威胁着道路交通安全。针对这种情况，通城公安局交警大队对该类交通违法行为进行了专项整治。

由于“鬼火”摩托车驾驶者通常都是夜里飙车，给清查整治带来难度，6月份以来，交警大队组织路面中队把专项整治安排在夜间，不定期到城区主要路口采取设卡、伏击、围堵等措施严查“鬼火”摩托车，并派出便衣巡逻组，对通城县“鬼火”摩托车的大致数量、集结地点、行驶规律、停放地点等情况进行了摸排，跟随掌握“鬼火”摩托车动态，提前通知附近卡点进行拦截查处。

6月26日，在全面摸清“鬼火”摩托车分布情况及活动轨迹后，交警大队出动警力20余人对城区“鬼火”摩托车进行了集中整治，查扣非法改装“鬼火”摩托车11辆，有效遏制了“鬼火”摩托车交通违法行为泛滥势头，维护了城区道路交通秩序，受到了在场群众的一致称赞。

下一步，通城公安局交警大队将进一步加大打击力度，坚决做到严厉查处，发现一辆，查处一辆，没收一辆，销毁一辆，从严从重追究“鬼火”摩托车骑行者的责任，还群众一个安全的出行环境。
